Comments: I served with B co 1st Bn. 12th Cav Dec 68 till Dec 69. We most likley saw some of the same ground as you did a year later? Did so much enjoy your site. I had almost forgot about some of the C-rations and a few other of the things I read on your site. Thanks for bring back some good memories. Thanks for all the hard work you put into this site. It helps to tell our story to the future genrations of Americans who may only see or read about it in some school book.

Comments: I ran across your site and found it interesting. When I returned from Germany in 1964, I was assigned to the 2nd ID at Fort Benning, GA. We under went Air Assault training with the 11th Air Assault Div. Just before the two were combined into the 1st Cav Div, I was transferred to Atlanta. My unit there, went to Vietnam with the 1st Cav in 1965, and I was back with D/2/5 1st Cav within 3 months. I cannot remember ever taking any of the gear you show into the field because we had copter resupply. Later I went over to the LRP company, and still did not use any of it. If you guys did, I feel sorry for you because carrying all that in 120 degree days would worse than going toe to toe with the bad guys. Still, this is a great site.

Comments: I described a PTSD survivor as a puzzle piece that got wet and doesn't really know how to fit back into the puzzle again. It is hard to * * * it up and It is very insulting to tell me to take my torn spirit and stuff it in a closet. torn down for a reason and then after you had been used for that purpose, sent home to survive with the aftermath of that. wow.... I guess, knowing that you were put out there into an environmental condition that lacked the best outcomes before you ever entered should say something to you guys and gals. Because your spirit rejects the memories with flash backs says it is not what you as the person you are at the core would ever had done under normal circumstances. Otherwise, there wouldn't be flash backs and PTSD right?? wouldn't you be sleeping like a baby. It is because that stuff is not yours to carry, the repercussions are not from your core belief system that you grew up with. I really appreciate u as a soldier and a person. thank you.

Comments: I want to thank you for your service to our great nation and for sharing your story. Its really important for those of us who were not there to learn the history directly from those who were. Yours is the real story and it was as bravely told as it was lived.

Comments: This sight was very informative and I for one want to thank those of you who served. You went into a war with the frame of mind that you were doing the right thing, even if the cause wasn't completely right, and still came home to find a country less than pleased with what was going on. You did not deserve to be treated indifferently, but with gratitude. I salute you, one and all.
