Comments: My brother SGT John Harrington served with D Company from June of 69 to Feb of 70.We are trying to get VA benefits for him but he told VA shrinks time after time that he was never in combat. John has been in out of VA hospitals ever since he came back from Vietnam. I know there were numerous firefights but one he did mention was heavy fighting around Song Be.I would be grateful if anyone could shed some light on this.Thank You all for your service.

Comments: I want to take this opportunity to thank Gordon Swenson, Ed Nored, and Don Ketcham for all their assistance in helping me gather information on - and helping me to understand - exactly what my friend, the medic "Doc" Richard Quinn, experienced, the last day of his life, 7-12-70, as he attempted to save another medic, "Doc" Thomas Kloss. Their insight and compassion has been most appreciated. As I put this Memorial album on Richard's life together, I realize how lucky I am that 47 years after that firefight, there are still witnesses who are willing and able to answer my endless number of questions. Reliving that day, has got to be painful - all the more reason for me to send them my most heartfelt gratitude. Fern Malkine-Falvey
Admin reply: Thank you Fern! We sincerely appreciate all you are doing in the memory of Doc Quinn!
